NEW - Cows will be fed special beans in a government-funded trial in Scotland, to stop them burping so much methane.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has awarded nearly £1.5m for the project, hoping that it could cut 875,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually.
